Callaway Golf Core Technologies

Callaway Golf Fusion Wide Sole Irons
A super-premium iron with game-improvement styling and performance.

A new, super-premium iron that utilizes Fusion Technology the innovative weight distribution technology created by Callaway Golf  the Fusion Wide Sole Irons use advanced multi-material design to create an oversized game-improvement iron.
Three distinct materials are brought together to create the Fusion Wide Sole Irons:
1. A dense alloy, Tunite, is fused into the sole, optimally placing the CG low in the clubhead to help get the ball in the air quickly and easily.
2. Lightweight 6-4 titanium is used to form the body.
3. A special vibration-dampening TPU SenSert insert is used in the back cavity, resulting in exceptional feel on every shot.
Lightweight 6-4 Titanium Body
Titanium body is 35% lighter than a comparable steel body, allowing Callaway Golf engineers to create an oversize clubhead with increased offset for greater forgiveness, an increased effective hitting area and more confidence.
Tunite Sole Weighting
Heavy Tunite weighting in the sole of the clubhead dramatically lowers the CG to help get the ball in the air quickly and easily.
TPU SenSert Insert
The SenSert is composed of a chemically engineered thermoplastic urethane that decreases vibration and creates an incredibly solid feel.
Wide Sole Design
The wide sole design instills confidence and helps each iron in the set glide smoothly and easily through the turf to reduce clubhead digging on missed shots.

Callaway has always had the same goal in mind when it comes to X Series irons— set the performance standard for the industry. The new Callaway X-22 Irons don’t disappoint and are the best X Series irons Callaway has ever created.

By maximizing perimeter weighting, these x-22 irons boast an MOI (moment of inertia) that’s 10% higher than their predecessors. The ideal CG (center of gravity) position has been preserved, generating optimal ball-flight trajectories. The Modified Tru-Bore design has been incorporated, dampening vibration for enhanced feel and the tour-inspired head shape has a slightly thinner topline and sole with a large sweet spot for improved aesthetics and forgiveness that will boost any golfer’s confidence.

The density and shape of the tungsten sole plate positions the center of gravity (CG) for higher launching, longer flying shots. The

concentration of the 61-gram tungsten sole plate, which represents 34% of the club head’s mass, allowed our engineers to move the

CG location lower and farther from the face for increased launch and lower spin.

The shallow face and wider sole

The shallow face and wider sole of the large, stainless steel head ensures stability and forgiveness while producing a high trajectory.

Its three-part construction combines the tungsten sole and stainless steel body with a plasma-welded, machined steel face to

increase ball speed for greater distance.

The Rapture Driver combines titanium carbon composite with innovative thinking to create a powerful and forgiving option off the tee. The visual technology of the patent-pending web crown design not only attracts attention, it pays off in performance. The lightweight crown allows 20 grams of weight to be positioned inside the clubhead for lower spin with a higher launch angle.

The 17-4 stainless steel G10 irons are engineered with extreme low toe weighting to increase the moment-of-inertia for added forgiveness and consistency. The large, perimeter-weighted head features a new cavity shape and wider sole.

The center of gravity is positioned away from the face and low in the club head to promote higher launching, lower spinning shots. By creating a new shape for the Custom Tuning Port (CTP), PING engineers stabilized the hitting area to produce consistent ball velocity across the entire club face. An elastomer CTP insert helps control vibration for a solid feel.

AWT Steel Shaft –
Ascending Weight Technology – lighter long iron shafts create higher club head speed and higher trajectory, heavier short irons create lower trajectory and optimal ball control.

TFC 129i: Tip Flex Control -
Designed specifically for the G10 & i10 irons, the TFC 129 Series utilizes lightweight materials with progressive weight, flex, and torsion profiles to increase club head speed for maximum distance while providing optimal launch conditions for superior control, consistency and feel.

New & Improved Feel Plus Control
Improved Feel, More Control in Titleist 2010 AP2 Irons building upon the high technology design and resounding success of the original AP irons, Titleist introduces the new high performance AP2 irons for avid golfers. The 2010 AP2 Irons are multi-material, dual cavity irons that take the design mission of “Advanced Performance You Can Feel” to new heights. The concept for the original Advanced Performance irons arose as a result of research that indicated serious golfers want performance with great feel, not performance at the expense of feel. The Titleist R&D team’s advanced research group has been conducting extensive sound and vibration analysis aimed at reducing the harsh lower frequency vibration that causes poor feel in Titleist 2010 AP2 Irons. This research led to combining several technologies and materials in the back cavity of the new AP irons resulting in a new Tuned Feel System to take feel to a new level. The new Tuned Feel System is a co-molded medallion of soft elastomer and aluminum plate. This insert has been specifically designed to improve the sound and feel of each new iron. For the new Titleist 2010 AP2 Irons, a softer, more solid feel is achieved. Other subtle refinements to the new AP2 have created performance gains in feel, sound, and turf interaction.
